Karen Miller has lived in North Bend for 27 years, where she and her husband Kenny, along with their blended family of 6 children, have attended Cascade Covenant for 12 years. Karen’s professional background includes work in several segments of healthcare, and in the public schools of the Snoqualmie Valley.
Karen has loved and served Jesus for 23 years. Five years ago she moved from teaching younger children in the church to teaching high school. She has directed the entire high school ministry for 2 years and now leads both the middle and high school programs. Her best moments in ministry work come when people really “get” what it means to “follow Jesus”, when they understand that they have a unique place in the Body of Christ, and when they finally realize how very much God loves them.
Karen loves people of all ages, but especially enjoys middle school, high school and college age students. She loves their energy, their enthusiasm, their hearts and their questions about God. When she’s not working with “her kids”, Karen’s favorite things to do are to spend time with her family and good friends, meet new people, read, play guitar and ride with her husband on their motorcycle.
As a leader, Karen believes that relationships are the foundation of our Cross Connections ministry. In everything we do, we want students to connect with God, fellow students, youth ministry leaders and men and women of faith within the CCC family.
We want to help students become like Jesus Christ. We will encourage them to
develop habits and relationships that will lead to a journey of lifelong spiritual growth and transformation.
We want students to grow as servants and leaders, embracing Cross Connections as their ministry. We will encourage students to serve God and each other out of their unique S.H.A.P.E., with a vision for ministry with an eternal purpose.
We want to help students live their faith in their everyday environment and be the light of Christ in their school. We recognize the need for our leaders to connect with and understand our students’ world.
We recognize the importance of the family in students’ lives. We desire to pray for and partner with families, as we minister to students.
We want our Cross Connections ministry to be effectively connected with the overall ministry of CCC. We want students to experience the encouragement, support and strength our church family provides. We will encourage students to have positive relationships, service opportunities and worship experiences in the life of our church.
Cross Connections exists to help students become devoted disciples of Jesus Christ.
By God’s power we want to see students:

-
Relate. with others in God’s family
-
Open. their lives to become like Christ
-
Serve God and others with grateful hearts
-
Share Christ’s love in the world
