Our Mission

"By God’s power we want to be a worshiping, caring, welcoming, growing and exciting church. We are committed to “living a life of love,” helping people love God, love each other and love the world for which Christ died. We want to help people of all ages become growing, serving, sharing and devoted disciples of Jesus Christ." (CCC Mission Statement)

This mission statement summarizes our sense of purpose at Cascade Covenant Church. Our commitment to “Living a Life of Love” comes from  Ephesians 5:1-2.

"Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."

We are committed to helping people:

1.  Love God

Jesus said that to love God is our highest calling in life (Mark 12:28-31).

2.  Love each other in our church

Jesus called his followers to love each other in powerful and even sacrificial ways (John 13:34-35).

3.  Love people outside our church

As we love God and each other we want to share God’s heart for people. This involves reaching out beyond ourselves to loving people in our community and world. As we are united with God through Christ, we are given the ministry of sharing the light and life of Christ with others (II Corinthians 5:11-21).

Living a life of Love happens as people begin and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ (Colossians 2:6-7). Our desire to help people of all ages know Christ points to our desire to minister to children, youth and adults. Our mission statement reflects our desire to be a place of real spiritual growth as we encourage people to become devoted disciples of Jesus Christ.

In thinking about our mission and ministry together, we have come to believe that God wants us to keep the following ministry focus and assumption in our hearts and minds.

CCC Ministry Focus & Assumption

Ministry Focus
We want to minister to anyone and everyone God brings to us while recognizing we can’t appeal to everyone or meet every need.  As we develop our ministries, we want to be especially effective in ministering to unchurched people, young adults (both single and married), and their children.  This focus will have a strong influence on our ministry programming and style. This focus impacts our belief that children and youth ministries need to be important priorities at CCC. It also calls us to be creative in our methods of ministry without ever changing our message. (Romans 15:20 & I Corinthians 9:15-23).

Ministry Assumption
We are totally dependent on God.  It is only by God’s power and grace that our ministry will be effective and bring glory to Him.  This reality gives us freedom and encouragement.  It also calls us to be people of prayer!  At CCC we like to say: “We don’t believe in miracles, we depend on them.” (II Corinthians 1:8-11, Acts 1:8-14 & Luke 8:27)
